Strategic model for the development of metrology businesses in Iran With the approach of identifying issues and analyzing their roots

Abstract :
As an important and effective factor in the production chain, metrology plays a fundamental role in facilitating and accelerating industrial and production processes. It is impossible to control the quality of manufactured products without considering the role of metrology and using equipment with metrological tracking capabilities. The purpose of this research is to design a strategic model for the development of metrology businesses to solve Iran's metrology problems and develop the national metrology industry.
Using the method of design science, this research solves problems based on new innovations and by improving the performance of existing phenomena. The steps of this method are awareness about the problem, offering a proposal, design and development, evaluation and summary, which was done by using metrology experts and by the method of focus group and brainstorming.
The results of the research identified nine metrology services and showed the strategic model of metrology business development in three layers of enablers, applications and works. The layer of enablers includes the components of organizational, informational and human capitals, the layer of applications includes the components of society, government and business, and the layer of works focuses on twelve components that form the basic problem of metrology of Iran in three social, economic and technological dimensions. The country's industrial development needs to pay attention to the above-mentioned metrological strategic model in three dimensions and 18 components
