Abstract :
Given the growing importance of metadata, the need to use it in organizations to achieve a competitive advantage is obvious, but it is important to note that in order for an organization to enjoy the advantages of metadata, it must provide various aspects of the metadata readiness system. In this study, the main purpose is to investigate the capabilities required by companies for strategic use of metadata. The research questionnaire was given to 83 managers of knowledge-based companies located in Yazd Science and Technology Park and the analyzes were performed using SPSS software. The results of data analysis show that the surveyed companies are in a good position in terms of technical capabilities and human resources, but are not in a good position in terms of organizational capabilities for strategic use of metadata and should strive to improve the indicators related to this capability.
