The current study is an analysis of Albert Camus' The Plague based on one of the most widely used theories in a wide variety of disciplines, the Game Theory. This theory of mathematics is one of the most widely used theories in a wide range of disciplines. One of the most effective applications of the game theory is to model the available phenomenon so that its results can be used to optimize decisions, behaviors, and interactions. According to the main plot of the novel, the players and their decisions in the face of one of the world’s challenges, pandemic, are illustrated in both normal and extensive forms. Moreover, the players and their cooperative and non-cooperative reactions are evaluated and analyzed. The reasons behind the non-cooperative behaviors can be found in the lack of trust, preference of the individual utility over the community, lack of awareness and learning, and imitation. In this work, decentralized groups are found to be an effective way to attract collaborative interactions. In his novel, Camus clearly shows how we continue to be surprised by repetitive games of pandemics and often find ourselves in a social dilemma. Players in social dilemma seek immediate individual utility in choosing the non-cooperative option.
