Analysis of the effect of middle level managers' cognitive styles on their managerial effectiveness (Case study: one of the knowledge organizations)

Abstract :
The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of cognitive styles of middle level managers on their managerial effectiveness in one of the knowledge organizations. Therefore, according to the research literature, managers' cognitive styles can affect their managerial effectiveness, and in this way can help increase the effectiveness of managers' performance in these organizations. In other words, to determine whether there is a difference between different cognitive styles or not? Therefore, the main hypothesis of this study is that the cognitive styles of middle level managers of the organization are effective in their managerial effectiveness. Data collection tools in this study are two Myers Briggs index questionnaires that have been standardized and answered by managers to determine cognitive style and a self-assessment questionnaire of managerial performance developed by the researcher and implemented and approved by experts. This questionnaire was also answered by managers. In the field of research method in this research, the mean comparison test (t-test) has been used. In this study, based on the results, introverted, sensory, emotional, judgmental (ISFJ) cognitive style has the highest effectiveness among middle level managers of the organization. In examining the main hypothesis of the research in this study, there was no significant difference between the effectiveness of the performance of middle level managers with different cognitive styles. In fact, the personality traits of the middle managers of these organizations have not been able to greatly affect the effectiveness of their job performance.
